Financial Literacy Workshop

The attitude of people in the past about teaching kids about finance has been: “Oh, they’ll learn about that later,” but the “later” never came along for a lot of people and they graduated from school never knowing anything about money and finances, even though they were very well educated in other areas of their lives.

Children encounter money earlier and earlier in life, not knowing how to manage their money will put them into a disadvantage stage which would potentially lead them into credit card debt problem, uncontrollable spending habit, lack of wealth accumulation concept.

Overspending and credit card debt go hand-in-hand. People spend all the money they earn from their jobs and then they use their credit cards to keep on spending after that. They get into thousands of dollars of debt and it becomes almost impossible for them to get out of debt. They become trapped, but your child can avoid that.

Stay on the path to a solid financial future by using the principles laid out in our program. Build a solid financial foundation upon which your child can build the rest of her life.

School is supposed to be all about learning to be successful, but it misses the most important lesson: good money management skills. Some really intelligent people who did really well in school have graduated and gone out and failed in life because they didn’t know how to manage their money. Don’t make the same mistake. Take charge of your future by learning about money and finances today.

Most people don’t usually have any trouble thinking about what they are going to do with money once they get some. The simple answer is they are going to spend it. Chances are, you’ve already got a list of things that you want to have or do that costs money, anything from buying the latest smartphone to going to concerts, movies, and other forms of entertainment with your friends. Or, you like to spend money on fashion. Maybe you dream of taking a vacation or many vacations.

Yes, you are already quite familiar with that part of what money can do for you – it buys you the things that you want. However, if that’s the only thing that you ever learn about money, then the sad news is that you are going to have less and less money to spend as time goes on in your life—unless you learn solid lessons that only a good financial education can provide.

Only by learning these things will you be able to have the lifestyle you want and be able to help others by donating money to the less fortunate.

School taught you a lot of things in academic and extra curriculum activities, however, it probably did not teach you how to manage your own finances. More than a few students have gotten into financial trouble with “easy” credit. The main problem is that many young people cannot get a handle on their finances. Some tend to overspend and they cannot live within their means. They spend money on electronic items, designer bags, clothing, vacations and they end up not having enough money even to pay their essential expenses such as rent and utilities. To compensate, they make up the difference using their credit cards and accumulating massive amounts of debt to the point some even have to declare bankruptcy because they have no possibility of paying it all off.

This isn’t just happening where you live, but all over the world. Why are so many people getting into financial trouble? It is not a question of intelligence. More often than not, these people excelled in school, got good grades, secure jobs as doctors, lawyers, accountants, architects, among many other professions.

Great money management begins with the understanding and building proficiency in a variety of financial strategies. It also requires adopting good spending habits as well as a sound savings and investment plan that will provide for a more balanced and complete life.
